Disability Information Scotland promotes the social model of disability, recognising that disability is caused by the barriers which people with impairments meet in everyday life.
Knowledge is power and we believe that knowing how to access the information you need, when you need it, helps disabled people to break down the barriers that exclude them. We have been working since 1999 to promote the rights of disabled people, their families, carers and those who work with them to have access to reliable, impartial, accurate and helpful information on relevant topics and services. We provide a telephone helpline and email enquiry service and produce regular e-bulletins and newsletters.
The main objective of our organisation is to improve the quality of life for disabled people and carers in Scotland by offering accurate, relevant and accessible disability related information.
