TMP Summer Social: Isle of May day trip

For this year's summer social outing we've decided to take a day trip out to the Isle of May - and we've even managed to plan it for their special Sea bird Weekend! June is the absolute best time to visit the Isle and see all of the birdies and their little babies, and for this weekend only there will also be on-hand expert advice so you can learn as well as have a sea-fairing adventure. So, get our your hard/bobble hats and binos, your camera, thermos and picnic basket, and get yourself booked on asap before the ferry tickets sell out (and they will). For those that anticipate great eats a month ahead, we will finish the day with fish n chips at one of many of the great chippies in Anstruther - arguably Scotland's finest. (Or you can just head home!)   Key details: - Sunday 12th June - Leaving from Anstruther, Fife on the boat the May Princess at 11.45am - TMP Members, their families, pals or partners all welcome - You need to book your own tickets for the ferry direct: http://www.isleofmayferry.com. Prices vary from £15 - £25 - Once you've booked, let us know you're coming! Email Sam (sam@themeltingpotedinburgh.org.uk) We will also try and coordinate car sharing options from Edinburgh, so once you've booked please also let us know if you need a lift, and how many people, or if you have a car and have space to spare! We'll do what we can to make connections but we can't guarantee transport from Edinburgh to Fife. This could all turn into a case of herding cats!   Rough timings for the day: by 9:45am - leave Edinburgh 11.15am - rendezvous in Anstruther, Fife, harbour 11.45am boat departs 1 hour sail each way, 3 hours on the island 5pm Anstruther - chippy and sit at the harbour (optional)   Final important note: The ferry operator have advised that due to H&S requirements all attendees need to be able to walk on and off the boat themselves, even if they use a wheelchair.   Be sure to book in before it's too late - and we hope to see you there!
