What Comes Next? Future of Work

The world of work has transformed rapidly over the past few decades. From the introduction of mobile phones and the personal computer to the advent of coworking the way we work has completely changed. But what comes next? Join us at this event to explore the Future of Work. We’ll investigate what the world of work might look like in years to come from a wide variety of angles. What do we even mean by work? What will drive the change: politics, economics, technology? What role will ethical business play? Where will people work? The Melting Pot is Scotland’s Centre for Social Innovation and was the first coworking space to open its doors in Scotland. We support a diverse community of inspiring people doing interesting things and we will be hearing from many of them at this event. Confirmed speakers so far include: Sam Hulls, The Melting Pot – Pioneering Coworking in Scotland Luke Brotherdale-Smith, Citizen’s Basic Income Network Scotland – Basic Income: how would unconditional income change the way we work? Helen Denny, Not9to5 - The future is flexibility Simon Francis, The Rooftop - Social Enterprise and the future of business Juliette Lee - How does business become a genuine force for good? Naomi Lille, Coworking Accelerator - Community coworking, a tool for the future Lily Asch, MHScot Workplace Wellbeing - The future of mental health in the workplace Martin Warne, Do Nation - Sustainability at work Xuechen Liu, Emotech - Artificial intelligence, where will we take it?
